Knowing your WHY for reaching for a goal is a huge Knowing your WHY for reaching for a goal is a huge driving force in actually attaining it: took the boys to #disneyanimalkingdom Lodge so they could somewhat “see” what a Disneyfied #Africa was like so they would know WHY we are starting training NOW for a 2026 goal. 💪 #mountkilimanjaro here we come 🥰 #tanzania
Made sure my #longrun today was at least 8.2 miles Made sure my #longrun today was at least 8.2 miles so I could dedicate them to #elizafletcher to help #finishherrun 💪🏃🏻‍♀️
August #readingroundup: absolutely adored #project August #readingroundup: absolutely adored #projecthailmary : wonderful tale of found friends & redemption all wrapped up in a sci-FI plot. 😍 This month otherwise leaned heavily #nonfiction : highly recommend #howshedidit to anyone who wants to learn more about female runners & their physiology/mentality/mistakes. #ericmaisel gave a fascinating lecture for @lorin_o3318 ‘s literary business & I have found his books equally interesting 💪 An audience member in #phoenix mentioned a #johngottman book during my #burnout lecture @ #wcicon23 & so glad I finally read one of his books: they’re incredible! Like #CBT for your marriage, so also highly recommend this book of his. (Not pictured: a DNF Sci FI & the book by #brenebrown : it was so spectacular it got its own post💪)
This is how our kids study #spanish in our house. This is how our kids study #spanish in our house. What’s it look like at your place? 👀🤣🇲🇽
So good I immediately hit rewound and started list So good I immediately hit rewound and started listening to it all over again-though this time, at 1.3 speed so I can absorb it better than 2.0 speed 🤪 I’m a firm believer books come into your life at the right time and this one has been spot on what I need to hear atm! 😍🥰
In the ongoing debate about unfettered screen time In the ongoing debate about unfettered screen time for adolescents & if it’s detrimental to their mental, physical, and creative health, I submit photo evidence of the tremendous creativity kids can muster whilst awaiting a #Disney bus: coming up with the idea to-and seeing who can-grip a wooden post the longest without their core giving way after swimming all p.m. 🤣 (No splinters were harmed in the making of this competition.) For any parent who’d like more info on screen times effects on boys’ developing brains, I highly recommend “Boys Adrift” by Leonard Sax, MD, PhD.
Shared my #swimlane this morning with an #Olympian Shared my #swimlane this morning with an #Olympian - whoever said it wasn’t intimidating to join #adultathlete teams in Gainesville?! 🤣🤪🤯😬😳
#spacecamp 2023 was amazing! Don’t know who had #spacecamp 2023 was amazing! Don’t know who had more fun: DH & I at our cabin on the lake or the boys @ camp 🤣🥰 So thankful for how life changing a visit to #huntsvillealabama can be! 🤯 (Though they left “future doctors” off over the top of the doors 😜)
